When the world’s leading water feature innovators at Aquascape Inc. needed a "Kick-off" team for the most audacious project in their history, one of the FEW they called was Kurt, of Verdant Landscape Consulting.
The mission? To create a "Garden of Eden" in the heart of a game preserve in southern Africa that's larger than the country of Singapore.
The Challenges were extreme:
- Precision Engineering: Placing 90-ton boulders (the largest ever placed on a liner) using the largest crane on the African continent.
- Logistical Mastery: Planning and executing a build half a world away with zero access to local hardware stores or distributors—meaning every bolt and liner had to be shipped in months in advance.
- Survival: Building an "Idyllic Sanctuary" in a high-desert environment where the local wildlife meant there was no room for error, and seasonal weather swings meant you had to get it done right - the FIRST time.

- Hana’s Garden: A Legacy of Serenity: Following the tragedy at Oxford High School, we were honored to be asked to design - then build - the beautiful water features in Hana’s Garden. As neighbors to Oxford, and with family directly tied to the school, this project was deeply personal. We worked to ensure that the sound of moving water provided a backdrop for reflection and healing for every family walking those paths.
- The Power of the Tribe: We believe in the "Verdant Code" of doing good while doing well. For the Oxford project, we leveraged our global network to secure over $12,000 in donated professional products and coordinated a multi-state crew of master builders who traveled to Michigan to serve our community - and it needs to be highlighted that these pros came here ON THEIR OWN DIME. We are privileged to be part of this tribe of amazing humans.

As a member of the Board of Directors for the Orion Area Chamber of Commerce and a representative on the Orion Township Environmental Resources Committee (OTERC), we work daily to ensure our local environment and economy thrive for the next generation.
